Try That in a Small Town Song’s Absurd Outrage

I was grew up in a world that valued ethics, integrity, and where a man’s word was his bond. There was no need for signed contracts. A man’s handshake was all the validation you required.

A world of reason. A world of substance. A world that clearly differentiated right from wrong. Weak from strong. Extraordinary from mediocre. Courage from cowardice. A world where the meaning of words was clear. A world that doesn’t exist anymore.

Want proof? Look no further than the recent controversy about country music artist, Jason Aldean and his song, “Try That in a Small Town.” The song is being equated with a modern day lynching. With glorifying violence and possessing racist undertones. All of which, is an exaggeration and outright lie.

Aldean factually denounces ANTIFA’s mindless violence and BLM’s looting and destruction, which occurred in the large metropolitan cities, in the Summer of 2020, and the everyday crime in our cities.

All he highlights in his song is small town values, where respect, ethics and morality, still hold sway. Where neighbors care for each other. Look out for each other. And that small town folks won’t put up with miscreants and lawlessness. Apparently the following words didn’t sit well with some people:

“Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, Carjack an old lady at a red light, Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store, Ya think it's cool, well, act a fool if ya like…

Cuss out a cop, spit in his face, Stomp on the flag and light it up, Yeah, ya think you're tough, Well, try that in a small town… See how far ya make it down the road…

Around here, we take care of our own, You cross that line, it won't take long, For you to find out, I, recommend you don't, Try that in a small town.”

And who are the biggest critics of Aldean’s song ? Well-to-do, college-educated, liberal, white women, driving their Range Rovers, virtual signaling their outrage of a song that exposes the truth about the moral and ethical state of our leftist controlled society.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t recognize my country anymore. The leftist insanity is everywhere. Every institution is compromised.

The hedonism and moral relativism is infecting everything. There is no respect for others anymore. There is no respect for law and order, no honor, no morality, no integrity anymore. No substance. Nothing seems real anymore.

Unfortunately, what needs to be done to reverse course requires a depth of faith and a courage lacking in most modern day Americans
