The closing of the Overton Window is fast approaching. Unfortunately, patriotic Americans are bound and restrained by a variety of constraints. Careers and jobs. Bills to pay. Children in institutions of higher conditioning and their tuition is due. Pensions and 401K contributions. Loved ones in nursing homes with rising costs. We are economic slaves. This has been the objective. We are held by invisible chains. Some of our own making. Our moral principles. Machiavelli talked about it.
Machiavelli was a 16th century political thinker. He had an understanding of human nature. He understood winners and losers. His observations pivot around a central and uncomfortable fact, that the wicked, tend to win and they do so because, they have a huge advantage over the good. They are willing to act with the darkest of ingenuity, cunning and ruthlessness to further their goals. They are not held back by those rigid moral restraints of the human spirit, principles.
The wicked are prepared to do whatever it takes to win. They will tell half truths. They will fabricate lies. They will exaggerate or downplay situations. They know how, should the opportunity arise, to seductively deceive. Be charming and gracious. They will make back room deals with enemies. They will betray allies and friends. They will use violence as a means to an end. And in doing all of this, they more often than not, conquer the World.
Machiavelli came to the conclusion that ultimately, we should care more about effectiveness and success than accomplishing nothing by being noble in our intentions. That it was not enough to dream of how things could be, the true measure is what we actually achieve. Nothing else matters. That taking residence in the quiet comfort of good intentions and a good heart wins not the world.
This is why conservatives are outmatched by liberal progressive socialists and their hedonistic oligarch collectivism. Conservatives want to be left alone. The busybody socialists can’t leave you alone. It’s not their nature. C.S. Lewis said it best:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
You want to know what’s coming in the 2022 mid-term elections? Well, no need for a Crystal Ball or a reading of the chicken bones… Just look at what happened in the Republic of Kalifornia and Newsom’s recall election. The Machiavellian won in a blowout! Don't lie to yourselves. The closing of the Overton Window is fast approaching.
