Really the Land of the Free?

Well, that depends on your definition of free. Compared to other nations, we have more individual liberties, but as presented in George Orwell’s novel “1984”, any country that requires you to carry an identification card is already a Police State. But it's more than that...

You are free until you research the wrong thing or say the wrong thing on the internet, or say the "B" word at an airport, or refuse to vaccinate your children, or refuse to get health care insurance, or refuse to wear a seatbelt or a helmet on your motorcycle, or refuse to pay taxes, or refuse to have electricity in your house, or refuse to get a permit to build a house or storage shed on your own property, or refuse to comply with EPA regulations, or refuse to show your ID in a traffic stop, or refuse to answer a police officer's questions...

Or you compliment someone on their appearance, or you refuse to see a psychiatrist after a judge orders you to, or you sit in a vehicle with a running engine for over thirty minutes, or you drive into the wrong neighborhood, or you carry a gun in public, or carry a concealed weapon without a permit, or you say or wear something that offends liberals, leftists, gays, transgenders, or minorities...

Or you pace back and forth in a public area, or you somehow obtain copies of what they call classified, or you send the wrong thing in the mail, or you just happen to buy that wrong land that the government wants. Or you defy shutdown orders and open your business, or refuse to wear a mask in public, or challenge the taking of your property by asset forfeiture scams, or you lower your mask on a flight to eat while wearing pro-Trump clothing, or you are the chief of police in Lancaster, PA, and your wife is pro-Trump, or you wear patriotic labels to schools, or you refuse to kneel for BLM and on and on...

Other than that I'd say that America is a pretty free country.
